Crumar Seven presets and new sounds
This is a common request we receive: "I just downloaded a set of new samples from your website but I don't know what to do with it". The first important thing to point out is that, on the Seven there's a difference between sounds and presets. A sound is just the "base" sound of a specific instrument that can be physical modeled or a sample, presets are a combination of a sound plus effects, settings of that sound, and other things. The presets can be recalled or stored using the front panel.
So... how can I assign a sound to a specific preset so I can recall it? This operation has to be done with the editor of the instrument. There's no way to select a different "base" sound using the front panel of your Seven.
- Decide upfront the preset number where you want this new sound to be located. Let's say Bank 2 Preset 2. Just go there using the button "bank" and the preset buttons in the panel of the instrument.
-Now open the editor: remeber...you are still on Bank 2 Preset 2 and that preset is using a specific sound previously saved (or saved by us in the factory). Now with the editor select another sound, maybe the one that you just downladed into the memory of Seven.
- Eventually do other modifications in that presets (for example adding effect).
- When you think you are satisfied, hold down that specific preset button for 3 seconds. This operation will store all the modifications you did including the new sound selection. Just like the old style radios or TVs.
Bank 1 can't be overwritten, so this applies only to Bank 2, 3, 4.
