firmware update - how to
Almost all the updates for our instruments require you to plug a USB thumb drive in the USB "A" port of your instrument.
In case none of the USB drives at your disposal work,I suggest buying a Kingston or a Sandisk USB drive, or even a Lacie, a Samsung.
Avoid Transcend, don't buy EmTec or any other bulk/unknown cheap drive. Every time you have to disconnect the drive from your computer, i.e. after having copied a file, use the safe removal procedure as requested by your operating system.
Be sure it is FAT32 formatted and be sure to unzip files before put them in the usb stick.
The same procedure is used if your instrument is in "recovery mode": is not starting but you can still see and access the wifi editor. In this case, instead of having the full editor, you have a specific screen that is telling you that you have to perform an update to have your instrument back to life. The same files used for updating are also used for this procedure.
