Can I use the lower manual for Mojo61 as a standalone instrument?

Lower manual for Mojo61 is normally connected to Mojo61 with a special midi cable that is able to transmit MIDI data but it's also able to supply the lower manual itself (P-O-M or power over MIDI) Additionally the MIDI messages sent out by the lower manual are special messages and not compatible with the normal MIDI NOTE ON/OFF messages. If you would like use your lower manual for Mojo61 as a standalone midi keyboard you need a special device called "MJU". Ask your dealer or take a look here: https://www.gmlab.it/

Connections: please use only the original MIDI cable that came with your Lower manual (it's a short 90° cable); connect this one to the lower manual and the other side to the MIDI IN of MJU. What's special with this MIDI cable? It's compatible with power over midi because all 5 pins are cabled and the power supply (5v) is running on the pins not used bu MIDI. If you don't have anymore our MIDI cable you can still use another MIDI cable but just be sure that all 5 pins are cabled, this is not a common MIDI cable to find.

Now, depending on your requirements, you can use the USB cable provided with MJU (USB A to micro) plugged to a computer both for power on MJU (and lower manual through this special MIDI cable) and for receiving/processing MIDI signals generated by the lower manual.

In case you need to integrate MJU + Lower manual to a MIDI system, you still need to power on the MJU (and lower manual through this special MIDI cable) using its USB cable and, for example, a phone charger but you can use the MIDI OUT of MJU to send the MIDI stream to your other devices.

In the menu of MJU you can decide MIDI channels, velocity etc etc.
